Local Company Representative appointed to Maryland Ready Mix Concrete Associations Board of Directors

Waldorf, Maryland— Chaney Enterprises' Vice President of Sales and Marketing, William F. Childs, IV, was recently appointed to the position of Vice President of the Maryland Ready Mix Concrete Association, Inc. (MRMCA). During his term Childs will continue to serve as a member of the Board of Directors for MRMCA.

MRMCA was formed in 1978 by a small group of Maryland Ready Mix producers who advanced the idea of forming an organization which would promote the use and production of quality ready mixed concrete, while ensuring the maintenance of high-level professional standards in the industry. Since its inception, MRMCA has and continues to promote the use of concrete in residential, commercial, highway, bridges, public works, and government construction projects, while representing the industry on local, county, and state government issues, as well as legislative matters. A primary function of the MRMCA is to promote cooperation between producers, contractors, citizens an government as it pertains to the use of Ready Mix Concrete.

The present membership for MRMCA stands at 61 corporate members, which include producers, associates, affiliates, contractors, and professionals in the concrete industry. This association and its members also provide education and training opportunities for members, as well as contractors. MRMCA's membership represents approximately 80% of the Maryland Ready Mix Concrete producers. Member companies provide direct employment for more than 4,500 people and deliver in excess of 2.75 million cubic yards of concrete annually.

MRMCA strives to establish and maintain the highest business principles while ensuring adherence to environmental and safety standards established for the communities in which they work and live.
