Charles County Chamber of Commerce recognizes
Chaney Enterprises as 1996 Business of
the Year
Waldorf, Maryland— Chaney Enterprises was
presented the Reed W. McDonagh Memorial Award as
the 1996 “Business of the Year” at
the Charles County Chamber of Commerce Presidential
Ball. This prestigious award is named in honor
of the first Chamber President who helped found
the Chamber in 1956.
Chaney Enterprises, celebrating its 35th Anniversary,
is a family owned and operated business which
was founded by Eugene Chaney in 1962. Chaney Enterprises,
the leading supplier of Sand, Gravel, Concrete,
Concrete Block, and Construction Supplies & Materials
in Southern Maryland, employees more than four
hundred (400) people. In addition to providing
employment to over four hundred (400) people, Chaney
Enterprises offers unrivaled education and career
advancement opportunities to their employees.

Neighbors serving Neighbors” the philosophy
of Chaney Enterprises, is evident, not only in
the quality of products and services they provide,
but also by their involvement in and dedication
to improving the quality of life throughout all
of the communities in which their employees work
and live. Chaney Enterprises provides financial
support to over one hundred eighty (180) non-profit
organizations with emphasis on those organizations
which benefit children, education, health and
medical facilities and the environment. These
organizations
include the American Cancer Society, National
Multiple Sclerosis Society, United Way, Center
for Children,
Health Partners, and the Charles County Community
College to name a few. The employees of Chaney
Enterprises volunteer thousands of hours of their
time annually to provide the much needed manpower
these organizations require.
