WCCCA Expands Resources with a Grant from the Chaney Foundation

The Western Charles County Community Association (WCCCA) received a financial grant from the Chaney Foundation to assist area residents and youth.

The grant was given to the volunteer organization to help partner with Charles County's Christmas in April, thus expanding the life of the donation in an effort to defray costly repairs to area houses and trailers. Approximately 125-150 children will also benefit from this donation which will coincide with aid from local churches, promoting educational and cultural programs.

Monthly and bi-monthly meetings will be conducted with speakers examining subjects such as substance abuse, health care issues, job training and housing repair programs. Assistance will also be available to help complete tax forms and applications. Transportation in some remote areas may be offered to meetings and programs offered as well as to area health care facilities.
