Chaney Foundation Beautification Grant
The Board of Directors of the Chaney Foundation
would like to extend a sincere thank you to the
2005 Beautification Grant recipients for all of
their hard work, dedication and wonderful projects
in an effort to improve Charles County. Recipients
included Arthur Middleton Elementary School, Dr.
Samuel A. Mudd Elementary School, J.P. Ryon Elementary
School, TC Martin Elementary School, William B.
Wade Elementary School, Maurice J. McDonough PTSO,
Charles County Master Gardeners, Charles County
Public Library, Homeless Advocacy Association's
Robert J. Fuller Transitional House and Melwood
Horticultural Training Center.
The Chaney Foundation established the "Beautification
Grant" in 2003 to assist Charles County community
schools, 501c3 and government organizations establish
aesthetic and environmental improvement projects
that will benefit area residents. Applicants are
encouraged to submit projects which use native
plant species and can be incorporated into the
school curriculum.
There are a limited number of grants, which will
be awarded on a competitive basis in April. Awarded
grants are valued up to $1,000.00 that must be
matched by the organization or school. The match
may be in cash, material, services, labor, or
a combination of resources.
The Chaney Foundation would like to thank all
of Chaney Enterprises' employees, customers and
suppliers who make it possible to give back to
our communities. The Chaney Foundation was created
in 1987 to honor and maintain the legacy of Eugene
and Richard Chaney, with the mission to improve
the quality of life in the Southern Maryland community
where Chaney Enterprises does business.
