Chaney Enterprises Receives NSSGA Excellence
in Community Relations Award
Chaney Enterprises’ received the bronze
award for the 2007 National Stone Sand and Gravel
Association (NSSGA) Excellence in Community Relations
Award.
Criteria for the award consisted of community
participation, outreach and special events; monetary
donations and community service; local and state
government involvement; communications and media
relations; education: both of employees and community
and facility appearance.
Chaney Enterprises supports local organizations,
schools and nonprofits through monetary donations
and material donations. Also, tours are given
to area residents, schools and community at large
of our plants, mining and reclamation sites so
that citizens are educated on our industry and
how we preserve our environment.
Always mindful of our responsibilities to our
community and the environment, Chaney Enterprises
gives back to the community through our philanthropic
organization, the Chaney Foundation. Ten percent
of Chaney Enterprises' overall net profit is transferred
to the Chaney Foundation to be donated to charitable
non profit organizations. The purpose of the Chaney
Foundation is to improve the health, education,
environment and welfare of our neighbors and their
children. Additionally, funds are provided by
local businesses and through Chaney Enterprises
customer base. Funds are also donated by Chaney
Enterprises’ employees and are matched 100
percent by the company to be given to their charity
of choice.
“Giving back to the community is very rewarding
personally and professionally. It is amazing how
many relationships and members of our community
have been fostered through donations, sponsorships
and community collaborations,” said Jessica
Pinkey, Chaney Enterprises Community Relations
Associate. “Receiving this award reiterates
the fact that our hard work for the community
does make a difference.”
Chaney Enterprises operates state of the art
production facilities and a fleet of late model
trucks. Safety is critical to our operation so
we run our fleet with lights on and train our
drivers to be respectful of the roads we share
with our neighbors.
Also through land reclamation, water filtration,
air and noise prevention programs, we strive to
be responsible in our day to day operations and
how they impact the environment and community.
The NSSGA Community Relations Program began in
1989 to recognize aggregate producers whose community
involvement and support activities have enhanced
the public's perception of the aggregates industry
in general and the public image of the individual
producer's aggregate operation in particular.
