Pervious Concrete
 Chaney
Drain-Crete, our pervious concrete, is an economical
and environmentally sound choice in stormwater
management. This porous concrete permits rain
to pass through the pavement and directly into
the soil which allows groundwater to be replenished,
runoff into local watersheds to virtually be eliminated
and for EPA regulatory requirements to be satisfied.
This product is extremely safe for the environment
by providing more air and water to trees and plants,
filtering out water-borne pollutants, as well
as, greatly increasing ground level ozone production.
Drain-Crete helps developers use land more efficiently.
Less runoff means less need for retention ponds,
swales, storm sewers and other stormwater management
devices. The result: space is preserved or made
available for parking, storefronts, homes and
other uses. Stormwater management systems are
expensive to construct and maintain. Drain-Crete
can greatly reduce both initial and long-term
project costs.
Like other concrete pavements, Drain-Crete reflects
light better than pavement constructed from a
darker material. That difference in reflectivity
can have significant economic consequences: studies
have found that concrete pavements can cut lighting
costs by up to 30%. As the cost of electricity
increases, the savings realized by using Drain-Crete
will increase proportionally.

Ultra-thin Whitetopping (UTW)
Damaged asphalt is an eyesore and a hazard, but a process called ultra-thin whitetopping is the practical and affordable solution. Ultra-thin whitetopping (UTW) has been used throughout the United States for more than 70 years and consists of overlaying cracked or rutted asphalt with a 2-4 inch layer of high-strength, closely jointed concrete. The old asphalt is usually milled beforehand to remove ruts and allow for strong bonding with the whitetopping.
UTW is an economical way to repair damaged pavement. Because UTW bonds to preexisting asphalt, there is no need to pay for the removal of distressed pavement. UTW is also low maintenance—joints are closely spaced and narrow, so they don’t need to be sealed. Furthermore, because no base is exposed or disturbed in the process, UTW requires half of the time needed for conventional pavement reconstruction.
By bonding with the underlying asphalt, UTW increases the strength of the pavement, and its short joint spacing reduces the stress of traffic loads and weather. The strength of the UTW ensures that this new layer of concrete will maintain its attractiveness rather than revert to the dilapidated state of the asphalt it covers.
